In the first half, the Niners allowed six sacks and completed four passes while collecting as many penalties (five) as first downs.

Harbaugh conceded he was a bit blindsided, saying "I didn't expect this."

And it was a disaster, except for the debut of rookie QB Colin Kaepernick (who I thought looked pretty good at times).

1. They better get that OL together..

Those early series looked like a replay of last year with Alex getting no time and then panicking...mistakes sure to follow. I've been hoping Harbaugh could maybe teach him a little football sense or pocket presence....probably wishful thinking.

On the bright side, the defense didn't do too bad. Aldon Smith looks promising and you have to be encouraged by Akers 59 yard FG. With the 49ers offense..a good FG kicker is a must.
