In case you've forgotten what classless crybabies the Skankees are, here's a reminder...
http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/6904397/baltimore-orioles-rip-new-york-yankees-hurricane-irene-makeup-date-complaints

Satan player rep Curtis Granderson remains optimistic that the makeup day for the Yankees-Orioles' game rained out as a result of Hurricane Irene will be changed.

The Orioles have scheduled the game for Sept. 8, but the Yankees have not agreed to play on that date.

"We don't want to do it. You know, you need both teams to play it and considering there are options, that means that we do have an opportunity to possibly change it," Granderson said after the Yankees' 2-0 Game 1 loss to Baltimore on Sunday.

The Orioles, however, say they aren't interested in discussing the matter and blasted the Yankees for complaining about it in light of the hurricane.

"Are we really still talking about this? We've just seen a hurricane come through this region which has caused millions to be without power, tens of millions of dollars in property damage and even several deaths," Orioles director of communications Greg Bader wrote in an email to ESPNNewYork.com. "We've got people out there literally trying to put their lives back together and yet there are some still worrying about a rescheduled game time?

Nice, one of the Satan options is to play at Satan stadium, giving them another home game...and check out the comments about Satan making the Twins fly in to make up their game...un-fucking-believable.

15. Not anymore, it's not.
It's hard to tell the practices of the two teams apart. Further, their fan bases have coalesced into one great bastion of douchebaggery. It used to be fun to hang out with Red Sox, but they clearly can't handle winning a couple of World Series.

2. I never could understand those who take the rivalry to extreme hatred
Both sides who do this are just need to grow up already. Root for your own team and stop the hating. I love Lou Gehrig and Ted Williams, but in your eye I'm supposed to hate one.

So he wants a day off, who can blame him? Yeah he's a millionaire, but even CEO's who make more than him done have to work for 25 days in a row like some of these guys do. Granderson never bothers anyone, back off his case.

3. You're not getting it, cboy, are you?
The home team gets to decide and 99.99% of the time the visiting team agrees to it...but the Spankmes think the whole fucking baseball world revolves around them...thye're assholes.

So Grandy is disappointed, who cares. Maybe you would be too if you were in his shoes. Blind hatred is for douchbags and internet tough guys, and none of us here are that, except in sports. It's like bullying is ok in here.

11. Oh course not, they are one team of many others
They just suggested it, because their schedule was hectic, and they said no. So a few players were disappointed, no huge deal either way, they're human.

7. Arguing with a Yankees fan is like trying to be diplomatic with Muammar Gaddafi.
But here I go.

The Red Sox fans aren't the only people who hate the Yankees. I would say that every other major league city hates them just as much. I sure do. Growing up in Kansas City and Dallas made me that way.

And BTW, most of this hatred does not extend to before the Casey Stengel era. Five World Series in a row was just too much.

12. We're not really arguing, just a healthy sports debate
I know many across the country hate the Yanks, however, there's such thing as hate and blind hate, like the OP has much of. Some go over the line, including some Yankee fans.

9. Actually, after living in the New York area for nearly 20 years, there are a SHITLOAD
of new york fans that take any rivalry to EXTREME HATRED. Even the LOSERS that "like" the KNICKS.

DOUCHEBAGS!

10. He's their player rep.
He's doing his job. Yes, it makes him look dickish. This would be a non-story if it wasn't the Yankees. Not everything's an outrage.

Also, the Twins game that got postponed was in NY if I recall correctly, why wouldn't they have to go back to play it? (I'm assuming the game matters to the Yankees, cause is sure as hell means nothing to the Twins' disaster of a year.)

14. Oakland and Boston agreed to move Sunday's game to Saturday just in case...
since this was Oakland's last trip out east and it was the only way they could get it in without making Oakland come back east...the games should be played...the Spankmes are trying to weasel out of one.

22. And that's the difference between the two situations.
It was in the mutual interest of the A's and Red Sox to play the doubleheader. It was not in Baltimore's interest to do the same. In fact, it was against their financial interests, as both the club and the city will profit more by rescheduling the Wankees for another visit. A good business decision by the Orioles - you don't see that every day!;)

23. Granderson just came over from Detroit this year.
At what point, exactly, did he become "Satan"? Do the pinstripes function as sort of a bar code (some fundies believe that bar codes are the Biblical "Mark of the Beast")? Is there a special evil potion that newcomers drink in a clubhouse ritual, like an East Coast version of "the clear"?

25. If I remember right, a few years ago
Edited on Tue Aug-30-11 09:26 PM by hughee99
a hurricane hit Tampa and the Rays weren't able to get to NY for a double-header. The AL East was tight and the game may come into play in determining the division winner, but rather than reschedule, the Yankees asked MLB that Tampa forfeit because the Rays MAY have been able to leave Florida just before the storm hit.

I believe that was 2004, and karma caught up with them that year.
