2. Special season are for guys that perform in the playoffs
He's having a great regular season but has lost to the Yankees twice, Texas, and Boston this year. Meanwhile Sabathia has had to pitch against the Red Sox 5 times this year and Beckett has had to pitch against the Yankees 5 times. The American League East is a beast for pitchers year in and year out. Verlander will see these teams when it matters then we will see if his season does become Gibson-like and Denny McClain-like.

5. what I love about Verlander is his cool
He has that intimidation thing going on.He KNOWS he is better than the batter and just keeps his cool and mows people down.

We are getting to watch the best years of a future hall of famer
