Did the Giants fake injuries on MNF?
NEW YORK -- The NFL sent a memo Wednesday to all 32 teams warning of fines, suspensions and loss of draft picks if the league determines players faked injuries during a game.

In the memo obtained by ESPN and The Associated Press, the NFL reminded teams of league policy that calls on coaches to discourage the practice, and that there was no specific rule on the topic.

However, two days after there was speculation the Giants' Deon Grant faked an injury against the Rams during the Monday night game, the NFL is warning of disciplinary action.

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said Tuesday the team notified the league office that it suspected the Giants were feigning injuries in St. Louis' 28-16 loss. Rams quarterback Sam Bradford said it was obvious the Giants were just buying time with St. Louis running a no-huddle offense.

"They couldn't get subbed, they couldn't line up," Bradford said. "Someone said, 'Someone go down, someone go down,' so someone just went down and grabbed a cramp."

1. The clip where two people simultaneously just fell over was pretty damning.
The G-men are probably gonna get hit with a fine, not that a fine would do anything.

3. Intent is hard to prove...
And if I read this correctly, there's really no rule against it...no specific rule, that is.

6. I thought it was a case of fainting goat syndrome.
I was wondering why the entire team didn't drop, though.

7. Who cares?
Why do they even have a defense on the field any more with all of the restrictions on them? Why not just turn the NFL into Arena football? What option do they have to slow down the hurry up? And are we seriously going to start saying, in the era of the concussion testing, that someone wasn't hurt? How are you going to prove they didn't have a cramp from dehydration that got worked out before the next play.

11. I don't think it's illegal.
I see nothing wrong with it.
The best defense against the spread is slowing it down. That's one way to slow it down.

12. Let's make a new rule!
I mean how many new rules does the NFL need?

They lost the purity of MLB a long time ago.

13. There already is a rule.
If you go down with an injury, causing a game stoppage, you have to leave the field for one play. This is a significant risk for a team to take - pulling a starter for a play. I think if they're willing to do that, it's penalty enough.

But you're right, the purity of MLB is unmatched. Babe Ruth's days as a DH really extended his career.
