The last time they made LSU #1, 2007
They came to Lexington and Kentucky beat them 43-37 in triple overtime. They STILL ended up National Champs that year, a perpetual place for the SEC. What do you think it will be like when we go there Sat and play them at 12:30.
They don't like 12:30, they like night games because everybody gets drunk and rowdy. I guess those bitches will have to learn how to get drunk in the morning.
Regardless, the Cats will probably get a new Coach next year.
I would have been embarrassed to return to the Sports forum if Florida had really kicked our asses. 45-10 is not bad, the 60-5 score a few years back still stings though.

1. explain something to me
I'm perplexed.

I fully support LSU's being #1. They've clearly earned it with wins over three ranked opponents already. Don't know why it took so long. (And I'm a Tide fan from the days of Bear Bryant saying this.)

But what is the justification for having Oklahoma over Alabama? Bama has quality dominant wins over two ranked opponents. Oklahoma has one. It just seems to me that performance on the field isn't being fairly evaluated here. I understand leaving things static for a week or so, but after four weeks, performance should be playing a much stronger role in the polls.

Either way, it's going to be settled on 5 November. LSU-Bama, and the winner is the clear favourite to win the National Championship, IMO.

2. Both teams must beat Gators first.
Alabama looks like it may have a bit easier road to the game. Game being played in Tuscaloosa can't hurt.

Your question, If it was basketball & I have seen this before, might think the major media markets have their homeboy favorites.
Sometimes it looks as if they are being geographically correct in not rating some teams over others. It may also mean higher TV ratings if 2 higher ranked teams are playing.
BUT
It may have to do with jealousy as these voters have watched Alabama kick their asses for years.
We beat Alabama and it was such a big deal the goal posts got torn down. I think the cops were even helping.
It usually is decided on the field anyway.
"They got a name for the winners in the world..."
