Tony Romo is Lions' MVP; Cowboys lose in historic collapse, 34-30
ARLINGTON, Texas — Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions are for real, all right.

A week after turning a 20-point halftime deficit into an overtime win, the Lions provided further proof they're a legitimate contender by turning a 24-point deficit into a 34-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

(snip)

Tony Romo and the Cowboys (2-2) continued to show there's no lead and no deficit too big for them. They blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead for the first time in franchise history in the opener, and this was their largest lead blown in a loss in franchise history, according to STATS LLC, wiping out comeback wins the last two weeks.

Dallas' previous biggest blown lead was 21 against Washington on Nov. 28, 1965. The Cowboys led 21-0 in the second quarter on the way to a 34-31 loss.

I turn off the game feeling sad at the Lion's plight to mow my yard and take a shower and am now amazed at what I missed.

1. Yeah. It made for a shitty weekend, but you gotta let the HATERS have their fun.
It just sucked that Ann Coulter's alma mater (MICHIGAN) won this weekend, and thus my general disgust with any team from Michigan.

Anyway, I found my g-g-grandfather's memorial at Gettysburg. There may actually be some pictures of him from the reunions in the 1880's & 1890's.

2. Was he a ghost?
Memorial?

Oh, you must mean a memorial to his regiment. Which one was that? I got a book with lots of monuments and markers pictured.

I found my great grandfather's grave in New Castle. I'm his only great grandson and am named after him. He was a corporal in the 76th. It was inscribed on his tombstone. He even has a GAR medallion stuck in the ground. The 76th was not at Gettysburg.

3. Yeah, he was a ghost. He survived the War.
149th "Bucktails".

My g-g-grandfather has a GAR medallion next to his grave (or at least it did when I saw his grave a couple of years ago).

4. Hate to tell you. He was a "Bogus Bucktail".
It seems the original 42nd resented the later 149th and 150th. They did not think the other regiments should be allowed to wear or call themselves "Bucktails". That monument is in the bend of Ayres Ave. south of Wheatfield road. I think its pretty close to the larger 148th one.

11. Sorry, but that arguement has been over since the 1880's. They were
all to be considered "Bucktails".

5. Wait! I took a picture.
The 149th on Chambersburg Pike at the McPherson Farm. Very visible.

9. What?
The Lions are somehow connected to right wing bullshit?

The whole league is related to right wing bullshit.

10. Isn't this part of the job description, these days?
The soap opera aspect of the NFL seems to be a bigger draw than the play on the field.
