So what was the opening to MNF like?

I don't have cable.

They should have fired Hank Williams Jr. a long time ago. The man can not hit a note to save his soul. Much less being an asshole.

2. I know a guy that used to be in Hank's touring band
He never made a record with him, but toured extensively. And knew him for years. Partied, did many drugs with him, etc. That guy is basically homeless now, and can't get his calls answered by Hank. On a side note, the same dude says that Tanya Tucker is a total bitch.

3. It was redneck free.
A refreshing change that was long overdue.

Always make a point to miss the over-produced openings to MNF and SNF for that reason.

5. I love the game of football.
I can't stand pre game shows, television introduction shows,
player introductions, mindless jingoism, expert opinions, and
self aggrandizement while handing out crumbs to worthy causes
while hundreds of millions of dollars more are going to people
who are already fabulously wealthy.
The ball is kicked or hiked to be put into play,
everything else is nonsense.
When I see a defensive lineman sack a quarterback, that player
acts like he just performed a feat of legendary ability.
All he did was do the job he is payed to do.
If you saw an auto mechanic replace a water pump
then throw down his tools, dance around with his arms
in the air, thump his chest, point to the sky then get
down on a knee and bow his head to show the world how
"humble and grateful" he is; you would think that he
was out of his mind.
Then there is the matter of touchdown celebrations.
ESPN dedicated an hour show on these assholes.
To me, Jim Brown had the best reaction to scoring a TD.
But of course, Jim Brown has class, something sadly
lacking in today's world.
I ask you, is there anything more useless than sports
interviews?
We have different people trying to regurgitate the same
tired old phrases;
I'd rather watch my auto mechanic replace a water pump.

Detroit Lions free safety Louis Delmas (26) is led off the field as he taunts Dallas Cowboys fans after beating the Cowboys 34-30, Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Cowboys Stadium.

I got sick of the NFL a long time ago. Thankfully there is college football.

8. I literally listen to the game with the sound down.
Some---and I mean some announcers are OK.

Most just like to hear their voice and won't shut up.

So---I turn the sound down and watch in silence.

9. I get tired of them talking about the same two or three players over-and-over
You'd think you were watching a 3-on-3 pick-up, flag football game
