The Huskers finally played a really good game, and established that they fit right into the B1G. They are now 7-1 on the season, and will host Northwestern next Saturday...

2. Husker Rex Burkhead building a legend

Nebraska rushed for 190 yards against a Michigan State defense that had been allowing only 88.9 per game to rank eighth nationally...(I think the Spartans were ranked 2nd against the run).

Anyhow, Nebraska's Rex Burkhead carried 35 times yesterday for 130 gruntingly smashingly tough yards. The junior -- who ain't that big -- just seems to get stronger as the games go on. He's not flashy, but he is a Major Workhorse - and that makes him an ideal Husker Hero...Burkhead played QB in high school (Plano, TX), and so can throw the ball, too, when needed...

3. Huskers climb into top 10 in USA Today Coaches poll
...There were two more games featuring top teams squaring off and in both cases we saw blowouts. The Michigan State Spartans got pummeled by the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 24-3. Michigan State fell to 16 while Nebraska jumped to no. 9.
