Red Sox acquire infielder Alex Cora from Indians
BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox today acquired infielder Alex Cora from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for infielder Ramon Vazquez. Senior Vice President/General Manager Theo Epstein made the announcement.

The 29-year-old Cora, who is expected to join the team in time for tonight's game in Baltimore, is a veteran of all or part of eight major league seasons with the Dodgers (1998-2004) and Indians (2005). The left-handed hitter appeared in more than 100 games for the Dodgers each of the last five seasons, playing in 134 or more games in three of the last four years.

2. That was my first thought.

I didn't realize the Sox needed an infielder. I mean Bellhorn strikes out a lot but he's hot every now and then.

3. I watched clemmons pitch brilliantly last night -
but to complete exhaustion as francona was understandably not in any mood to risk the game with the bullpen. The sox have the batting lineup from hell, pitchers must have nightmares before facing those guys, but the relief is giving it all back every night.

4. Clement was overlooked for the all-star roster and he was trying to prove
a point. he pitched very well last night-nine strikeouts.
