1. It is disappointing that two of the top NFC teams have terrible defenses.

Packers and Saints. The Whiners can actually play some D, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull off an upset or two in the playoffs. Of course prior to last night I thought the Giants had a decent defense too.

Pats are a mystery - they look terrible, give up tons of yards, yet hold teams to one or two scores.\

Oakland is up & down, but overall better than average D.

The way Capers has the D set up, when they make big plays they are awesome. When they don't, it's sickening. But, I'll still take Capers and the Pack's D over anyone else.

Always questions at quarterback this time of year. But my main concern is the secondary. They're atrocious!

5. Coughlin needs to be done.

It's time for a change. I don't think the players respect him at all.
Giants also need to find a running game. It's been a crutch all season.
Eli's really having a decent year, they just had to rely on him too much.

let's face it they were down to trainers in the OT game at Green Bay in the Championship game three years ago. They emptied the defense into the backfield and won. Then they played well but got lucky on the catch - Rodney Harrison failed to make the only play he ever got off league suspension to make and he didn't.

Eli is VASTLY overrated. Coughlin is a good coach. I remember this sort of talk the year before they won the Super Bowl....and there is -- Who are you going to hire?

9. I wouldn't get rid of him

Coughlin knows what to prioritize -- downfield passing and 4th quarter pass rush. It was the same in the early years in Jacksonville. A team like that is always a threat, even if they barely sneak into the playoffs.

His offensive line is injured and the first round defensive backs have not fully panned out. The linebackers don't look like NFL starting caliber. If anything, the Giants got overly confident in Eli and didn't make sure he had a dependable bail out running game. Strange lack of emphasis on the offensive line.

This year they had so many guys hurt early in preseason that a good season seemed unlikely.

If Coughlin is replaced you could easily get stuck with someone with a brilliant resume who struggled to exceed 6-10. Three conference championship game appearances and one title is not something I'd be comfortable to overlook or downgrade.
