Raiders starting middle linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested Thursday in his hometown of Decatur, Ala., for allegedly assaulting an individual, holding a gun to the victim's head and firing a shot next to his ear.

McClain, 22, was released on $2,000 bond, according to Lt. John Crouch of the Decatur Police Department. The 2009 Alabama All-American has been charged with discharging a firearm within city limits, third-degree assault, menacing and reckless endangerment after an incident Wednesday night.

The article mentions guns laws differ in Alabama than, say, New York -- where Plaxico Burress spent 20 months in prison for accidentally shooting himself in the leg in 2008.

How different? McClain was charged with four misdemeanors! :eyes:
