On a Wednesday conference call to set up Denver’s Sunday matchup with the Bears, one member of the Chicago media asked Tebow to say a prayer for Bears quarterback Jay Cutler’s injured thumb.
Cutler broke and dislocated the thumb on his throwing hand on Nov. 23 and is unsure whether he’ll be able to play again this season.
The request generated a hearty chuckle, and then Tebow offered a genuine response — just as he’s done every time his skills and ability to lead an NFL team have been questioned this season.
“I do wish Jay Cutler the best and a speedy recovery,” he said. "He's been very nice and gracious every time I've been in his presence and had to meet him and talk with him. So, I wish him nothing but the best.”
