Manny removed from BoSox lineup
Edited on Sat Jul-30-05 06:03 PM by MaineDem
No reason given.

A trade perhaps???

He was first announced as being in the lineup and the radio broadcasters just said he has been pulled. Could be nothing; could be something.

2. Joe Castiglione just said...
"No trade to announce right now"

Somethings's going on. They were checking to see if Aubrey Huff is in the lineup for Tampa.

4. oh count me in to support that
my respect for manny went up hearing that he and schilling clashed and manny reportedly saying that he is tired of curt running his mouth and thinking he is spokesman for the team
thats what espn said anyway

i dont want to break up this team (unless schilling is the one who leaves)

8. The Met's Trade is "dead", per ESPN, Boston.com, SoSH
and various other sources. I don't want Manny gone, but I want him to wake up a little bit and realize how much his "antics" hurt the team.

Oh, and shut up Schilling.

9. We'll see
they still have about 18 1/2 hours to the deadline. With the Mets hitting tonight and Manny not in the lineup, there may be a deal by tomorrow.

10. I REALLY hope they don't trade Manny
Manny is an overgrown child and he will always be that way. He is also one of the greatest hitters in baseball. I will lose respect for the Sox brass if they trade him.

11. Am I the only Sox fan not exercised over the thought of Manny leaving?
His antics irritate the shit out of me.

Admittedly his swing is sweet and we need to see some serious quality in return for him, but he is not the end all of the Sox.

I don't think a deal is going to get done unless the Sox agree to eat a huge chunk of his pay. His salary is just too big for most teams to swallow.
