2. Half the battle concluded
The other half is to cross our collective fingers and hope Manny doesn't sulk his way through the rest of the season.

Yeah, it's possible.

3. So the gold glove in left field is staying?
Just saw him in Chicago last Sunday ........
One of the best hitters ever but his fielding .......
He turned a single into a triple w/ 2 RBIs .......
although I have seen him make remarkable plays too.

Good luck BoSox

6. It's pretty funny
He leads the league in outfield assists at the plate. Not because he is spiderman in the outfield, but because runners consistently test him, and he has had a lot of chances to help the catcher nail guys at the plate.

Basically, he leads the league in a good stat because he is so bad.

8. Man-Ram
Used to take little mental vacations when he played outfield for
the Indians. Great bat but his glove is a problem.

12. Thank the gods for Manny staying- thge best bat in baseball, period!
Too bad Theo didn't trade freeper schill for some young arms. I guess the pickings were too slim. regardless schilling needs to pitch NOT Pretend to be a GM/Mgr.

currently, they don't hold a candle to A-Rod and Giambi, not to mention Sheffield and Matsui.

16. What stat are you using? It's sure as hell not RBI...
RUNS BATTED IN RBI

1. Manny Ramirez, Bos 93
2. David Ortiz, Bos 88
3. Mark Teixeira, Tex 85
4. Alex Rodriguez, NYY 81
5. Richie Sexson, Sea 81

17. RBIs are a bad statistic
They're more dependant on the runners on base in front of then than any ability of the hitter.

OPS isn't great, but it's a far sight better than RBI.

18. Lets look to more robust stats than RBI
which is more of a team stat.

OPS. On base plus slugging is a much more useful stat. Both Giambi and A-Rod have a 996 ops to lead the league.

is a hideous stat to judge a major league hitter by.

24. It's the middle of this particular season.
Stats up to this point in one year don't mean a whole heck of a lot in the bigger, longer term scheme of things.

22. what desperation
Giambi and A-Rod are tied for the league lead in ops. Sheff and Matsui aren't far behind. But you throw out charges instead of refuting with facts. Typical Boston fans.

And now it's time for everyone's favorite activity: Yankee fan haiku!

Cranky Yankee fan,
A sloppy slurpee in hand.
Mumble, mumble, SLUR!

"Proof?" 'Tis on Broadway.
"Classy" Yank fan hears all! Oops!?
Slurpee in pinstripes.
