Has Palmeiro's suspension enhanced Canseco's credibility?

Jose was taking quite a hit from the press about being unreliable and worse. A lot of the things he's said are turning out to be true. Just because he wrote a book for profit doesn't mean the stuff in there was untrue.

3. Yeah I knew he was a friend of Bush's but I leave politics on the

counter when it comes to sports. I believed him for a number of reasons because Raffy was never big like how some of these guys got, he also to me didnt have the huge year some of these guys had like McGwire hitting 70 and Bonds later 74, Bonds average too has been suspicious. I really have liked Raffy ever since he first started playing with the Orioles back in 94. I dont think I could boo him but my respect as an Orioles fan and fan of his talent has goen down since hearing about this.

The people who bring politics in to the Sox-Yanks rivalry are to me foolish. Since you got Schilling who I think is full of himself and a big republican donor but I do admire his ability to pitch big games, and then you got the guy who is the Yankees, Steinbrenner, who Ive read was involved in CREEP and later pardoned by Reagan. So both sides of that rivalry have Republicans. I admit it I hate hate hate the Yankees but thats becuase of how I was brought up, take our owner here in Baltimore for example, Angelos is a democrat but hes a shitty owner, do I like what he does off the field in regards to protecting steelworkers and laborers, you bet I do but I think hes a bad owner. Politics and sports shouldnt mix, most of us get in to sports as little kids and we should hate our rivals for reasons that have to do with the team and what it does not because of their politics.

my best friend grew up in baltimore on illchester ave.(4 blocks from memorial stadium) and he's a diehard O's fan just like i am with yankees. we root for each other's team except of course when they are playing. oh, btw, he's a liberal. but can't mix sports and politics, except maybe the rangers, i hate them, you know why. Brady Anderson is also one of the only players whose autographs I have, I liked the guy but now knowing what I know he was on the steroids, no team is immune for sure, I really am in a way yearning for the baseball days of the past now that I didnt even see, I love good power but I like good pitching too since after all I was one.

6. Let's break it down

Canseco threw three high-profile players on the bus in his book - McGwire, Giambi, and Palmeiro.

McGwire showed up at Congres, weighing about 160 pounds and utterly destroyed his good guy image in about 15 minutes of testimony. Canseco by close decision on this one.

Giambi apprently admitted his abuse to the grand jury and then gave the most bizarre apology in the history of apologies. He also seemed to be a step away from attending games in John Travolta's "Boy in the Plastic Bubble" suit last year. Canseco by a second round TKO.

Palmeiro was the one who seemed to have credibility for a long time. And now, he gets suspended for steroids. Canseco by fifth round KO.

Yes, I would say that Jose is credible at this point (as much as it pains me to admit).

It does for me at this time. Until it can be proven that somehow Palmerio really did take steroids by accident Canseco's credibility is increased. After it was announced that Palmerio has tested postive for steroids I immediately thought about the other guys who Canseco named in his book and began to wonder if it was true that they had used steroids. Now that Palmerio has tested positive there should be a second look given to Canseco's book and the people named in the book.
