Franklin caught using steroids, too bad he couldn't get a hold of the performance-enhancing kind.

2. Yes. A starting pitcher |
|
It's looking more and more like pitchers are into this stuff just as much as position players.
Another M's pitcher (Joel Pineiro) is heavily rumored to have been using previously. He's lost about 4-5 mph on his fastball since the testing began.

3. I really dont see why pitchers would see the need to use the stuff |
|
Pitcher to me isnt all about speed, its about more than that. Its nice to have a speedy fastball but its not the must have.

4. Strength gain is beneficial in more than just the arm |
|
Pitchers workout very hard to increase lower body strength in their legs. Steroids could be very useful in building up that strength.
It probably has less of an impact for a pitcher than a position player, but it still can be a tremendous aid.

Steroids are supposed to cut recovery time, which is especially useful for relievers but can help starters a good deal too.

5 mph to a fastball can make a huge difference.

If Franklin used, I think the real question is who didn't use / isn't using?
I mean, wow!

Hm aren't 10 days for a banned substance not a little too low? I mean, why shouldn't one risk to take it if the penealty is so low?
