World No 4 seed Andy Roddick for US Open Victory?

Tennis: U.S. Open up for grabs with a wide-open field:

I thought it was very tough to have to go into the June Wimbledon Final againist Federer without the advantage of a whole day's rest, unlike his awesome opponent.

I also think he needs to do two things if he is serious about winning at Flushing Meadows:

Completely change his pre-serve body language. All that fidgeting about with his hat, shirt and racket is anathema to the cool, composed stance of greats like Federer.

Change his headgear. He looks as if he is a profuse perspirer and that hat he wears contributes to the problem. Some 60% of body heat is lost through the head and if he keeps covering it up - instead of dealing with it with, say, a minimalist towelling headband, he is exacerbating the situation.

Other than that, his service is awesome, his backhand deadly and his net-front volleying coming along nicely.

Hope his luck is in these next couple of weeks.

1. and still he will loose in the finals to Federer
Frederer plays the big points better and shots that andy hits that would win
the point against 99% of the rest of the players Roger puts back in play.

Federer owns Roddick.

2. Roddick has a chance this time. Federer ain't unbeatable
but he's pretty smart and clearly has benefitted from playing a hell of a lot of squash.

4. Federer basically owns everybody...
except possibly Marat Safin on really rare occasions. And Safin isn't playing.

3. I crafted my serve after the bad form of McEnroe
who was the man at the time.
It took me years to morph into an Agassi style serve.

Since you never change a winning game it is hard for Roddick,
whose particular style and rituals get him into the finals, to
actuate a different groove for the finals.

I know I could never do it.
