1. I Don't Like The Dolphins
Edited on Sun Sep-11-05 03:22 PM by iamjoy
I used to, but their owner is a big time GOP donor. That in itself wouldn't be too bad, except he helped pay for an ad saying terrorists wanted Kerry & Castor to win.

Now, I can't root for the Dolphins.

2. Yep..
...Huzeinga is an @sshole, but the Dolphins had a rough season last year and I'm glad to see them win for their new coach.

3. Wow! So how good ARE the Dolphins under the new coach?

I thought the Broncos would win easy since the Dolphins were so bad last year and the Broncos were undefeated in the preseason. The Dolphins won easily!

Ever since bush visited Broncos training camp in 2000, I've enjoyed their misery!!! And the Broncos have been really bad! Honestly, I was worried that they'd be really good this season. Guess the bush curse lives on for the Broncos.

4. It's hard to assess how good the Dolphins are...
...after this one game. The defense looked good (as usual), and the offense was decent. The Broncos looked like sh@t though. I think the heat got to them (90 degrees today in Miami).

6. Yep...
..I once heard an NBA announcer comment on the 'South Beach' factor. Something about visiting teams overindulging at clubs when they come to Miami. Maybe it holds true for the NFL too.

7. That's a good one: "South Beach factor." That's it.

8. I attended that game
Miserably hot and humid. You could see the Denver players sucking for air even before kickoff. I'm a Miami native who lives in Las Vegas now. The humidity is difficult for me to adjust to even though I spent 20+ years in Miami. I was a sweat-drenched wobbly mess in Miami the past four weeks just trying to walk 18 holes.

The Dolphins are on the upswing but after Rick Spielman's masochistic tenure as GM it will be a while before Saban can restore the roster. Our offensive line is inadequate and will be exposed by better teams. The secondary is new and vulnerable, especially if the blitz packages that Saban prefers are thwarted. But it's great to at least have a QB who is willing to throw the ball downfield. Feeley's 2-yard passes were a joke. I can't believe there was a hint of a QB controversy, not when Frerotte's lifetime yards per attempt is a very good 7.1, compared to Feeley's laughably imcompetent 5.8. Nice trade, Spielman.
