I'm old enough to remember when the Orange Bowl had a dolphin tank in the East end zone. When a football landed in the water, the dolphin would kick it out with his nose.

I even got booted out of the Orange Bowl FOUR times during Canes games on Friday nights.

Twice was in that east end zone you're talking about. Remember when Notre Dame had that Sunday hour long highlight show with Paul Hornung doing commentary? I noticed they showed the scoreboard after every Irish TD. So I climbed the auxiliary stands in that end zone, the ones used for Dolphin games but completely empty for Canes games, and held up a sign near the narrow scoreboard. My sign said, "Go Irish!". It worked perfectly and the Notre Dame cameraman focused on my sign. As soon as he did I flipped it to the other side; "Notre Dame SUCKS!"

Within minutes the cameraman summoned a security guard who booted me. The chore was when my dad and I drove back home and he wanted to discuss specific plays. I'm a fairly skilled bullshitter but that really took some rambling.

...once the Orange Bowl started selling beer, I had trouble remembering specific plays also.


I loved those ND-Miami series. Catholics vs. Convicts. They were easy to get fired up about. Now we've got these ACC losers. YAAAWN.
