Clock error helped Patriots beat Steelers
"PITTSBURGH (AP) - A clock error added 52 seconds to the fourth quarter of the Patriots-Steelers game Sunday. The extra time aided the Patriots during a winning drive that ended with Adam Vinatieri's 43-yard field goal with 1 second remaining."

Not bemoaning the loss just thought it was interesting to see that not only were the players sloppy in that game, but the officials were too.

1. Clock error didn't have anything to do with the outcome...
I am no patriots fan but lets tell the truth clock error had nothing to do with how that game turned out. If it had not happened maybe Pitt goes to the hurry up sooner and still leaves new england with a minute and a half to drive down the field. a lateral to a player not looking for a lateral gets you beat clock error does not.

3. Not Saying It Did
I'm just saying that not only did both teams play sloppy, but the officials did as well. All around a sloppy game.

2. I don't understand the "error".
According to the article, a play was run, but it turned out there was a false start penalty. So the clock was set back to what it was before the play was run. This is what they do for a dead ball foul like a false start, isn't it?

4. I'm not sure
Apparently it wasn't a dead ball, but someone thought it was and rewound the clock. Who knows. Just sloppy.

5. I still say the Moran Award goes to Antwaan Randle El
for his amazing lateral at the 10-yard-line after catching a 60-yard pass. :P

6. LOL, if that ain't the truth.
That's the kind of thing you try when it's the last play of a half or something. Not when you're in a tight game against tough competition and you just need to keep moving the ball.

8. I screamed at the television
They said later that the team rule for laterals is that if you're going to do it, you better make it. Please. If you just made a 60 yard reception just go down.

7. The Pats are a great team, but....
they sure seem to get some seriously big gifts. Thing is, this wasn't a home game. Does the league supply the clock operators, or do the teams?

9. I think they're league
From what I read they are part of the NFL, and the league even called them during the game to point out the discrepancy and they didnt' think they had made one.
