I think odds are good that I will be skipping football this year
if my Panthers tank against the Packers on Monday.
My pro teams:
Panthers (1-2)
Packers (done already)
Bills (1-2)

my college team:
NC State. (1-2)
losing to UNC? AGAIN? ALL THOSE PENALTIES?

I give up.
x(

but I probably wont be watching/following a whole lot this year.

I can't take losing any more games on last second FGs.

5. Yes it can.
How 'bout being a Bengals fan through the nineties and early 2Ks? I stuck through it though too, and I'm loving this season so far.

4. Adopt Tulane as your college team.
I did. They beat SMU in their first game this year.

6. I'm a Saints fan. Bite me. Though
my other team is doing well. Not that the Cowboys have played anyone moderately decent yet.

7. I hereby renounce my "skippingness of pro football"
although college still stands.

Panthers: 4-2 (1 game out)
Packers: 1-4 (1 game out)
Bills: 3-3 (First place)
even my former favorite that I don't pay much attention to anymore, the
Potomic Drainage Basin Indigenous Persons are 3-2 and a half game out of first.

What a difference 3 weeks makes.

9. You need to create a hierarchy! That's what I do.
I always have a team to root for using this system.

1) My team (the Lions)
2) Eastern seaboard and old timey teams (Bills, Jets, Packers, Bears, etc.)
3) Never root for "stolen teams" (Colts, Rams, etc.) That way you can always have a team to root against
4) Root for teams where people from your college or college team went (I can, you see, root for New England because of Tom Brady.)
5) Find out if any of their main players are freak Bush supporters (the Mannings, for example)
6) Choose blue state teams over red.

Etc., etc. See? It can be fun!!!! You can always find a reason to pick one team over another. For example, last night, I was watching the baseball game, and while I have no real reason to like the Cardinals (other than that they are an old-timey team), it was very easy for me to find many reasons to root against Houston! (Their Jesus freak pitchers, having to see Poppy and Babs in the stands, Enron associations, etc.)
