1979-2006 The NFL Misery Index
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=060110/nflstandings

Want hard, quantifiable proof of the pain your NFL team has caused you since ESPN appeared in 1979? The numbers are here, with overall winning percentage, playoff appearances and Super Bowl trips.

For cities that have hosted multiple NFL franchises, we have combined the records -- so Houston gets the Oilers and Texans, Baltimore gets the Colts and Ravens and St. Louis gets the Cardinals and Rams.

For the Raiders, even though they've moved between Oakland and Los Angeles, we included their overall franchise totals.

1. Gee...
...my team (the Dolphins) is ranked third and I've been pretty miserable since '79 (no SB wins). I can't imagine how Arizona fans feel.

3. We want them to go back east so a Bart Starr team

6. Seattle fan here
and if anyone has a lock on pain...
I have rode this team since they came in the League, 1976.
Hell, Tampa Bay came in the same year, and THEY got a ring.
The Saints and Lions fans know about the high hopes at the start of the season, only to get let down.

Team Wins Losses Pct. Playoff Super Bowls SB wins Most wins Most losses

18. Seattle 211 214 .496 8 0 0 13 14

So, even the "misery index" disses us.

They should be in the top THREE... 8 playoff games... 8!! and not ONE win.

Thats changing this year, they could go all the way, but I need to temper my optimism.
You see, we have been hopefull before...
