Cardinals new downtown stadium 90 percent complete (see pic)
They started laying sod today for next month's home opener.

This should be way better than the old multi-purpose stadium.

Finally a baseball park for a baseball town!

1. Ya know, it's really nice, and a big improvement, but...
...now all the "retro parks" are starting to look the same. From Arlington to Denver to Baltimore to Cleveland, all the brick facade ball parks are so similar these days.

However as a Cardinals fan, I'm glad there's a new park. Although I'll miss the first place I ever saw an MLB game, I'm sure I'll get over it. ;)

2. Good point
My first thought at seeing the pic was, "Looks like St. Louis' take on SBC in SF." Which is really just SF's take on Baltimore.

4. Except these cookies are shaped to accommodate a baseball diamond
and not both baseball and football.

Much better site lines and seats closer to the action.

5. That's one reason I like PNC Park
No red brick, though there is some yellow sandstone, but most of it is just exposed black steel latices. It's a park that really looks like it's in Pittsburgh.

A whole of similarities in these ballparks

VIctory Field in Indianapolis

Camden Yards in Balitmore

Ameriquest Field In Arlington

Constantly changing the name park in San Fran

Miller Park in Milwaukee

Coors Field in Denver

Comerica Park in Detroit

7. I don't care if they are "cookie cutter"
I think they look nice.

Although they'd more effectively pull off the "old-time baseball" feel if they'd ditch the corporate ballpark names.

8. Wow, it looks nice
Maybe someday the Twins will get one, if they do not get contracted.
