in history is currently being re-broadcast on ESPN Classic. At this moment it's 31-26 USC over Texas with 8:40 to play.
Just thought you'd want to see it again...

is Vince Young lobbing the weak and ridiculous give-up pass to the right sideline at about midfield when the score was 38-26 USC and maybe 5 minutes left. By all rights it should have been intercepted to end the game, but USC had backup caliber defensive backs playing the ball and one of them idiotically knocked it down instead of picking it off. The entire game and Young's reputation would have changed dramatically if that play had unfolded as warranted.

4. What I remember is the smile on Vince's face |
|
as he called his team to the huddle on fourth and six from the thirteen with thirty seconds left. He had them right where he wanted them.

5. At first Vince just didn't look THAT unstoppable |
|
But his poise -- that confidence under pressure that was so apparent -- was something I just have never witnessed before in a college athlete.
USC managed to pretty much contain everything except him running with the ball. They rarely even got close to him on his touchdown runs. How could they not have a linebacker key on him every single play in the second half, for example?
He played that game on an entirely different level than everybody else on the field. It was almost metaphysical. The only comparison I can make is to Michael Jordan.
Should be interesting to see how long Billy Volek remains the starter for the Titans.
