Bill Belichick, voodoo master, has a surprise in store for the Colts

The tarp was left off the playing field at Foxboro Stadium all day Wednesday, through a driving rain, and all day today, through a dense fog. It will apparently be left off again tomorrow, through another day of rain and fog. By the time the Colts speedster receivers take the field, the ground will have the consistency of gumbo.

The Colts are used to playing inside. The Pats are used to playing in all kinds of insane weather, with the field in all kinds of insane condition. Last year, the temperature at halftime of their first playoff game was twenty degrees below zero with the wind chill. I know. I was there.

Advantage: Patriots.

This is Peyton's game. If he can protect the ball and not throw picks it is going to be a long and competetive game that is not decided until the fourth quarter.

12. So is this home field advantage or is it unethical?

The point being that the NFL stipulates that it's the home team's responsibility to provide a professional caliber facility. Of course, both teams will be playing under the same conditions, but it is favoring the one team more than the other?

Now that the Packers are out, I just want to see some fun games, and this looks like it's going to be one of the best. I love to watch mud bowls like they used to have in the 60's!

It's football, not chess. I hate domed stadiums and wish they were banned for the sport. Football is supposed to be played in the elements, not in some pristine, climate controlled facility. The last time I checked, the Patriots are playing on the same field. If the Colts wanted to play in their stupid bubble, they should have taken care of business during the season. It's not the Patriots fault that Indy plays inside during the year. I'm very interested to see how Belichik will jerryrig a secondary that can stop Manning as well, since both Law and Poole are out.
