Beating every person in a field of 140+ is much more signficant and impressive than defeating seven players one at a time. A couple of months ago on DU someone insisted Tiger hadn't been the most dominant athlete in the world for some time. I believe that was 5 straight wins ago. In a sport like golf, that defies all logic and probability.
Oh, I forgot. Golf is not a sport therefore Tiger is not an athlete. That's the familiar desperate theme.
Tiger's awesome year was 2000 which sneaks it into this century. He figures to win 20+ majors at this rate and that will become legendary, perhaps never approached. I know that sounds unlikely but it truly is a sport in which no one should be able to dominate like this. That won't be clear again until Tiger is no longer winning majors and the greats of 20+ years from now are struggling to win 5 or 6 in their careers.
Federer has a much better case if he wins at least one French. Tiger doesn't have a "yeah but" on his resume.
Great pictures of Fed, BTW. I love his athletic arrogance on the court but classy demeanor off of it.
