Kramnik forfeits game 5 of world chess championship; match in doubt

I know this isn't the most important thing happening, but I take my duties as DU's unofficial self-appointed chess editor seriously.

Vladimir Kramnik, the classical world champion, forfeited the fifth game of the world championship to FIDE champion Veselin Topalov in a dispute about playing conditions.

There is some doubt as to whether the match will continue.

Today's (Saturday's) game has been postponed to give match officials, including FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, time to reolve the crisis.

That sounds great until one takes into account what crooks and incompetents Kirsan and his board members are. They are the kind of group Bush would call exemplary leaders of a growing democracy.
