More thoughts on the Steeler win.

This is how the Steelers have won all year.

They beat Dallas and Jacksonville in the last minute.

The two easiest games were against Philly and New England.

And those New England fans heartened by this close one need to remember how they won against Oakland in 2001.

Really, I saw a lot of aminsoty towards us by people after the win tonight. :shrug: I am tellin ya, I am sick of people saying Roethlisberger is overrated. Bettis is really impressing me a lot, another 100 yard game, and Duce had 50. Ya know a win is a win, and yes some of our wins have been close but as a friend and fellow football fan told me, good teams win close games.

10. Pats are a good matchup...

The Pats are a methodical ball-control team, not a big play team. The key is forcing Brady to throw on 3rd and long...he crumbles with a blitz in his face.

The Patriots eat up a one-dimensional offense, even if it's an otherwise great offense. The Pats also eat up a finesse offense, even if it's otherwise great. The Steelers offense, although run-heavy, is not one-dimensional. And it's a power offense. The Pats' Kryptonite. (Even though the Pats smothered Peyton Manning, their D is not as tough as the Jets, Jags, Ratbirds etc.)

The Halloween Massacre was no fluke. Steelers match up much better with the Pats. Take care of the ball and I gotta feeling...

Yes, we got variety on offense, the bus or duce can have 150 yards combined between them and Hines Ward can have a 100 yard catch day, and Burgess can have a few big catches, and Randle El can get in the mix too.

As you can tell by my avatar, I'm no Steelers fan. However, I've been impressed at their ability to win close games this season. I knew coming in that Pittsburgh wouldn't win this game big, as some experts predicted.

I still like Pittsburgh's chances next week. I doubt Roethlisberger will have another mediocre game like the one he had today.

the Jets lost the game. They handed the Steelers a victory that should have, by all rights, been theirs.

No way in hell I'm giving any credit to the Steelers. It'll take years for me to get over this game.

Absolutly 100% incorrect...It is the steelers who handed the Jets the victory. The Jets just weren't good enough to beat them.

They scored 3 lousy points with their offense. The Steelers mistakes are what made this game close. Nothing more.

If the jets had a kicker who could do what his title entails they would have won. Not because they are better then the steelers but because the steelers put it within their grasp.

The Steelers should have won and they did. End of story.

Those don't happen, the Steelers win by a more convincing, 17-3 or 17-10.

Giving up the punt return TD and the INT return TD were complete flukes. Otherwise, they win 17-3. The Jets did not deserve to win the game, and they didn't (though Brien's double-choke was unbelievable).

19. Roethlisberger has more snaps than Brady did...

...when Brady got the MVP of the Superbowl. Sure Brady wasn't a first year rookie, but he didn't take any snaps that first season (or if he did they were few)

Roethlisberger has more snaps and game time under his belt at this point. What does it matter that he has a 'rookie' label.

Also, just because nobody has ever done something doesn't mean it can't be done, in fact it means that it WILL be done by someone eventually. Will it be Big Ben? Who knows. If they beat the Patriots though there is a really damn good chance of it happening.
