Can't help it--- If you're a true blue Miami Hurricane fan, you'll always hate the chicken-Gators.

2. I know....
But don't it bother you a bit that you guys chickened out and quit playing us? It was such a good rivalry and at the end there when we kept beating you... you guys up and quit and replaced us with Montana State. To be forever labeled as cowards and chickenshits.... that has to hurt.

Oh I know...you did come back and play us for a couple of years the last couple of years....but we beat you guys every time and beat you good.

That's OK--- ya got your second NC and only need 3 more to catch the scUM. Shit...the scUM have lost more NC's that you guys have played for.

3. You just don't get it...........
Schools act in their own interest. Why should Florida play you or any other school that would require a return home game when we can play Montana State or Southern Miss and there will be 90,000 fans at Florida Field to watch the Gators. If you're not aware, the home team in college football keeps almost all of the $$$ from a home game. Why should Florida subsidize UM's empty coffers? You play any non Florida school and you get 20,000 fans, if your lucky. We get 90,000 fans regardles.... because Gator fans pay to watch the Gators. We don't care about the opposition.

Besides, you really probably do have a standing invitation to play the Gators anytime. But it's going to be at Florida Field every year just like a game vs Montana State would be. Like I said, We aren't going to the City owned Orange Bowl and fill your stadium and your coffers just because we're nice guys. We're for the Gators. We act in our own best interest and don't care a bit about you.

And BTW, Florida added The U back to the schedule when Spurrier was hired in 1990. When the SEC expanded the conference to 12 teams and 8 games each The Conference bought that game back along with bunches of other game for other SEC teams.

And regarding scheduleing........ we just did something for the 2nd time that no other school has EVER done. Won the National Championship while playing the ....#1....... ranked most difficult schedule in the country. Did it in '96 and did it again last night.

You quit the rivary...not us...you. BUT it's about the money...LOL. We were thumping your sorry asses and you up and quit.

Chicken-shit Gators and you always will be. Let's say it again...you replaced us on the schedule with Montana State.

AND the only reason you average 90 plus is what the fuck else is there to do in Gainesville? Mud whomping?

8. Funny. A putz from a school who can only qualify for a Championship game...
if they can play in a conference full of Temples, telling a fan from the ONLY school in college football history that played the #1 schedule and ALSO won The Championship........ who they should schedule.

BTW, enjoyed watching your game with FIU. So classy. Such sportsmanship. Trying, in your own inimitable U of Miami way to start another instate rivalry......... I guess.

And a question..... Did I read correctly The U would only sell a ticket to the U v FSU game if you also bought a U vs FAMU game, too? That's funny. And do you bitch at FAMU about who they schedule, too?

And another question..... Is there any fear that The City of Miami might decide to quit subsidizing your "school" by spending millions on Orange Bowl upkeep? I mean some day they might decide to just bull doze that puke hole (which I played in many years ago) and then where does the U play FAMU at? Do they still have that little stadium up at Miami-Dade North Community College?

10. That's rich coming from a school that employed Charlie Pell.
What---106 violations?

You keep throwing up this hardest schedule ever shit like it's supposed to mean something. Vanderbilt? you're kidding right? Central Florida===snarf! and of course Western Carolina. Real tough there.

DUDE---5 NC's to 2.... and like I've said...we've lost as many as you've played in.

Dude! You're Chickenshit Gators.

BTW: You know..they invented the toothbrush up in Gainesville. If they invented it anywhere else it would have been called the teethbrush.

14. "06 Football - Gators win both hoops and football. UM brawls with FIU
Those are the stories from '06 college football everyone will remember.

Gators win BOTH football and basketball championships in the same year. No one's ever done that before.

scUM rolls in the mud with FIU

be any sore losers here. Guess my wish wasn't granted (unlike last night!)

11. Gators are ultimate cowards
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 05:32 AM by Awsi Dooger
Name another major college program who was suddenly too petrified to face a longtime state rival. Especially at a point when the other school was the dominant program in the sport. Every excuse imaginable for 20 years.

You actually had a Gator fan in this thread try to excuse the matter. Something about playing at home only. Priceless.

We're number one but we're still too scared to face you other than our place.

The Gators ran away. That's their legacy. Champs once in a while. Cowards every day. Nice resume.

15. Schools that sell out 90,000+ stadiums do not take scheduling advice....
from schools that frequently draw in the 20 and 30 thousands.

And schools that play the #1 most difficult schedule in the country as measured by The NCAA (like Florida did this season) do not take scheduling advice from those with lesser schedules.

It's really just that simple.

17. The real reason is the world's largest coctail party...
The Gators want to ensure that they have six home games per year. There's millions of dollars to be made in G-ville on a game day (even against Western Carolina), so you know they're not going to want to give up one of those six games.

Here's what causes the issue - because the Gators play an eight game SEC schedule, a game against FSU, and the neutral game in Jax against Georgia, they have no room in their schedule to play at Miami or any other school except in years where the NCAA allows an extra twelfth regular season game (I think it's when there are 5 Saturdays in September, the NCAA allows one more game). And the Gators did play at UM the last time that happened. BTW, Georgia is in a similar situation.

So in order to be able to consistently play an alternating home and away series with UM, they would have to give up either the FSU game (not gonna happen) or the neutral Georgia game (a.k.a the tradition-rich world's largest cocktail party - also not gonna happen). UF decided the Jax game was more important than the UM rivalry and that was it. It certainly has nothing to do with the Gators being scared. UM wasn't even the third best Florida school this year. South Florida would have handed the Canes their ass on a platter.
