13. LOL
His worst punishment would to be names head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

Looks like Norv Turner, a former Dolphin coordinator, is one of the favorites to be named coach.

9. It was either him or T.O. and Jones picked the wrong guy.
It's fine with me. The Cowgirls will plummet back down to the depths where they belong.

11. Moochie
New Dallas coach may be:
Steve Mariucci, Mike Martz, Mike Sherman, maybe Jim Fassel (NFC East coach).

How about the new Jimmie Johnson from Philly.

15. Mike Martz??2??
:wtf: You obviously hate the Cowboys! If Jones names Martz as coach, well I will probably have to cease being a Cowboys fan during his reign. Martz managed to screw up everything in St. Louis.

18. I became a Cowboys fan in the early 70's, when I did not live in MD.
Just moved to MD about three years ago.

BTW, I don't think Norv would be much better. He made a good asst coach, but has sucked as a head coach, though I don't know if Washington should count as long as Snyder owns the team.

See my other post. I think Jerry is going to go after Bill Cowher. Money does talk!

21. actually Norv sucked under two owners..
I think John Kent Cooke still owned the team the year Turner and Gus Frerotte "headbutted" their way out of the playoffs..I was just kind of hoping the Boyz hired Turner so my Skins could beat up on them for awhile...:-)

20. They say that Norv is an offensive genius, who created the
powerhouse offense of the cowboys in the early 90's. Folks, that is BS. Anyone would have been able to coach those guys and they still would have been great. Norv's true talent was shown in DC and Oakland!

Money talks and Cowher will jump at the offer.

22. I would lose alot of respect for Cowher
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 09:04 PM by SethInUpstateNY
if he did that. However, as much as it would sicken me to see Cowher coaching in Dallas, the Steelers would be rather foolish not to take any compensation from Dallas since Cowher still has one more year on his contract with the Steelers.

27. Not gonna happen.
He's still under contract to the Steelers. He won't coach again until 2008 at the earliest. Plus, it would be absolute sacrilege to see Cowher coaching the heathen Cowboys.

Norv Turner w/ Jason Garrett as offensive coordinator/QB coach. Now if they would only get rid of T.O. :grr:

26. Cowboys won't name head coach until after Super Bowl
IRVING, Texas (AP) -- The Dallas Cowboys won't name Bill Parcells' replacement until after the Super Bowl.

In his first public comments since Parcells retired Jan. 22, owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Wednesday he wouldn't have a decision on a new coach until next week. Jones has already interviewed eight candidates, and might add to that list.

"We've got a good football team, and I've got to get this right," Jones said. "We've got to make a good decision when we select the next coach. We're going to have the opportunity and a plan in place that will allow us to do that."

By waiting until after the Super Bowl on Sunday, Jones could interview Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera and Jim Caldwell, the assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach for the Indianapolis Colts. NFL rules prohibit teams from talking to those coaches until after the Super Bowl.

It's selfish to say so, but we still need him in San Francisco.
