Have you ever played tennis and had a return hit to you and you couldn't position your racket?

Have you ever played baseball or softball and had a ball hit towards you and you couldn't field it because you couldn't get your glove to the ball?

When I played softball I wasn't a power hitter so I would hit a lot in the infield and attempted to place the hit in a difficult position for the fielder.

In the same light... if the QB doesn't get the ball to the right place it makes it more difficult for the receiver. Or if the receiver is being covered and get the right opening. Or it doesn't do any good for the receiver to catch the ball if the QB throws it out of his reach. A long pass is more difficult to reach the target because it also relys on the receiver having speed and timing.

I happen to think Peyton is a fantastic player, a good role model and a decent human being. He's not perfect, but he's better than 90 percent of the self-serving idiots in professional sports today.

Of course, I'm a Univ. of Tennessee fan and I would think this of Peyton. :)

He has one of the best RBs in the league and yet, by virtue of calling his own plays--and "audible-izing" (a word I detest)--he manages to get an incredible number of touchdowns, which look good for stat fetishists and fantasy footballers. Brady, on the other hand, makes himself part of a team and does something extraordinary every week. He just wins.

It's football, not chess. I loved seeing the poor little domed teams being forced to play in a real stadium this past weekend. IMO, domed stadiums should be outlawed for football. I wish the SB would be held in a cold weather city sometimes, and the same for some college bowl games.

Let the team with the best overall record get the home game in the Super Bowl. This way teams that clinch early still have something to play for in the later weeks and it's a great reward for the fans. Football is the only sport that doesn't give home field/ice/court to the dominant conference or league in the championship round. (As an aside I find baseball's method to be ridiculous but within the parameters of my statement.) It's something you earn by playing well. I really don't see why they need years to plan the Super Bowl, every city that has a team in the playoffs can make preparations for at least 5 weeks in advance and some can make them long before if they clinch early. Of course, this would mean all the corporate slime, politicians and other undeserving "fans" wouldn't get their handouts so it will never happen.

His #1 super favorite Manning looked like he was crying throughout the game and played like he was. Nantz and Simms (who I like) were falling all over each other trying to make excuses for Manning (~"Well you know the receivers dropped a lot of balls especially at the beginning of the game") it was embarassing. Almost as embarassing as playing outside against a team with a winning record is for Peyton.

For a minute there I almost thought that Manning had surpassed Coach K in Nantz's wonderlust hierarchy.
