Great job, Spurs ($). Now we're guaranteed a real final, with two teams whose games averaged in the 180s.
The West is so overrated it's a farce. The Spurs are a legit power team but the rest of it is offensive hype and that is always crap. Tonight was delightfully pathetic. The Jazz faced an elimination game and were content to allow 109 points. The Spurs in a similar situation would have been looking to hold Utah in the 70s.
The teams in the West playoffs all raised their scoring averages this year, some to ludicrous numbers like the Suns above 110. League scoring went up to over 98, primarily due to the shoot out games in the West. So it's natural and predictable that all those point happy teams were shot down early in the playoffs. It can't even be denied that Utah got this far only because they faced an even softer team in Golden State.
