Marino & Young get into NFL Hall of Fame - Carson & Irving don't
I know Harry Carson hurt his chances by telling the HOF committee to take his name off the list due to past disappointments by him in failing to get selected, but that he is not in the Hall is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

As far as I am concerned, qualifications for the Hall should be that a player was very dominent at his position for a long time during the era he played in. Carson unfortunately played half of his career with LT and was in his shadow, but Carson was to the Pro Bowl or All Pro at least 8 or 9 times during his career and was a dominant star for 5 years on a Godawful terrible team before LT ever put on a Giants jersey.

He was one of the most dominent inside linebackers in the NFL during his entire career. Perhaps the only one that was more dominent than Carson during his playing years was Mike Singletary, who didn't even make the Hall until last year to show you how stupid their selection procedure is.

What are these people thinking about?

1. Irvin should have gotten in too
All of the Dallas triplets (Aikman, Smith, Irvin) belong in the Hall of Fame.

3. Absolutely, maybe 2nd best receiver of all time, but
I guess his legal troubles bothered them. What's makes carson's denial even more unfair imo is that this is his 15th (and last chance) while it is Irvin's first.

2. Great. Now there will be riots in Dallas
The local papers are all abuzz with the chances for Emmitt Smith, Michael Irving and Troy Aikman getting into the Hall of Fame.

Irving's had his share of problems, but I thought he was very talented.

5. Not sure Irvin belongs in - Monk definately does belong in
Don't get me wrong - Michael Irvin is the greatest living American. However, the numbers are not there.

Onionman Dent belongs in tho.
