New HBP rule for baseball
Here is the new rule for real baseball I thought of the other night.
The batter should take a base on a HBP only if he gets nailed by a pitch and it hurts him. So none of this, it nicked my uniform, take a base nonsense.
Guys can wear armor plating and stick their elbows out and get hit but, hey, you got hit on the armor so that's just a ball.
I know we'd start getting flops like in basketball, so the ump will have to decide if it really hurt or not.

1. Do you really think batters are eager to get hit by a 100 mph fast ball??
:wow:

2. Sure! It'd Be Great!
What's 98mph and 6 ounces covered in hard leather with stichted seams? That couldn't hurt, could it?

3. This is the dumbest idea I've heard for baseball in a awhile.
Every player would then start acting as though they got hurt, and the umpire would decide if it really hurt or not!?! :spray:

How are they going to do that?

Will players be taking off their clothes at home plate to show red marks and scrapes?

Will doctors come out and do quick exams?

And what percentage of hit batters are grazed on their uniforms? A very low percentage is the answer.

6. No BOSSHOG. It would be like Arkansas believing it
can beat Tennessee.

4. So what you really want...
...is for pitchers to be able to throw at anyone they want with no penalty as long as there's no injury? No harm, no foul?

That's lame.
