Did anyone see the 60+ year old guy pitching to him?

1. What, do you think the pitchers throw sliders to the other
hitters or something?

Come on now.

3. Not a lot of defenders around when the NBA does slam-dunk contests either,

right?

I don't watch all the time, but am thinking the "derby" is more about contact than strike-outs, no? Anyway, Hamilton gets plenty of good wood on the tough pitchers too from what I hear on ESPN. I didn't see it, but I read that it was quite the virtuoso batting performance last night.

But then, I like opera too.

4. The pitcher was 71 years old
He was Hamilton's coach back when he was a kid. He's been batting off him for a couple decades now.

It was a touching gesture from the kid to a mentor and friend.

But you feel free to mock it because the guy was old.

6. He's not a crackhead .. he was a crackhead and by all
accounts has gotten his life back together again.

But don't let the facts get in the way of blaming Josh for all of your life failures.

He's successful and rich.

You? Not so much.

Right riverdale?

7. JH getting raptured up right now, Left Behind-style
You are on ignore because your rambling, incoherent responses are not even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this post is now dumber for having listened to it, but I, thankfully, have not thanks to the ignore feature. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Josh Hamilton, the Texas Rangers slugger who emerged as the feel good story of the 2008 baseball season, was arrested in May 2005 following a drunken rampage on his 24th birthday. Hamilton was busted in North Carolina after punching in the windshield of a friend's truck and tearing off the vehicle's rearview mirror (he also broke a baseball bat over his knee). Pictured in the below mug shot, Hamilton was charged with a misdemeanor property damage count.

11. Suggested interview question for Hamilton
Josh, considering that you didn't tell us about this Yankee Stadium dream you had until earlier this week, is it a possible that you just made it up?

13. You don't feel embarrassed allowing everyone
here to witness just how devastated you are that Josh is a successful, handsome, professional athlete while you're a, well..... I don't want to make you feel worse than you already do.

Josh Hamilton $396,830

Riverdale $:spray:

When Josh starts earning seven figures next season, I hope you'll have gotten past your jealousy by then. Know what I'm sayin?

Josh: What a wonderful, fantastic success story!

14. Well, he won the contest, right?
:sarcasm:

oh, right, that was Justin Morneau, who may have saved us from an even bigger menace than The Tie II: Electric Boogaloo. TBS' hopelessly contrived All-Star selection show featured a ten-minute (or close to it) interview with Hamilton, in which the slugger just happened to mention that he's a Christian at least four times. :puke: Wasn't there a verse somewhere about "praying in the closet" or some such?

Imagine if he'd actually won the thing. They'd probably award the Rangers ten games in the standings, or something. :eyes:

I hear Ted Williams was an atheist though! Not bad.

17. Or better yet,
"Well Jesus Christ, I blew the save! Everybody screws up sometimes. Goddamit!" Now that would be classic. And it sort of describes me when Kerry Wood blows saves. Sort of.
