With hockey gone there is nothing for me to root for. At least the Cup run keeps you occupied until June and then NFL training camp starts in August, giving you a month and a half off. Seven months of nothing sucks.

14. No, the Phillies drove me off a long time ago.

They refuse to complete and therefore I refuse to watch. Ed Wade (The GM) is an idiot and the ownership sucks. If that ever changes I might come back but I doubt it. Baseball has grown boring for me, I used to love it when I was a kid. All the steriods, juiced balls, bandbox stadiums and watered down pitching have soured me on the game. Basically I only like Football and Hockey now. I never got into basketball.

The Phillies always manage to whip on the Sox in interleague play, and damn, but those Philly fans go nuts at Fenway. I was walking down the street last year after one game, and three different drunk Philly fans tried to start a fight with me. Seriously. :)

16. Yeah, we travel very well for every team.

Unfortunately, some of our people do not behave appropriately and reflect bad on all of us. When the Sox came to The Vet a couple of years ago there were some incidents with the Boston folk as well. My brother is a security supervisor for the Phillies and said he had more action during those games than he had since the Mets fans used to come in during the late 80's and early 90's. I believe our cities are quite similar as far as fan passion. Tough, blue collar towns with fierce pride. I travel a lot for the Eagles and while my crew is always loud and rowdy, we don't start fights. Most people just like to talk trash to each other in a good natured way, some people take it way too far. At the end of the day, it's just a game.

Boston fans are nuts, too.

One of my favorite things about Fenway is the ridiculous partisanship of the security guys, especially during Yankee games. If a fight breaks out between a Sox fan and a Yankee fan at Fenway, the guards pummel and remove the Yankee fan, no questions asked. If a Sox fan pulled out a gun and shot a Yankee fan in front of the entire bleacher section, the guards would drag out the body of the Yankee fan before touching the Sox fan.
