36. Tebow's religion is not that of my choice but.....
by all accounts he's a very nice, well liked guy.

Bradford is great, too. Has a great shot at the Stiff Arm Trophy as does Colt. Any of those three guys are very deserving of the honor, IMO.

32. That's exactly what I thought of when I heard him after the game.
They always thank their god after they win because they think people will associate their success with their beliefs. They should ask the loser why god doesn't like them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Seminary#Notable_Alumni">Wikip*dia says:
Bob Tebow - Founder of Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association in The Philippines; father of 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow

The USA Today says:
"When his football career is over, he would like to follow his father in the ministry and work with children.

(...)

(All the Tebows were home-schooled.)

(...)

"On Sundays at noon, Tebow and Joiner (teammate and roommate Tony Joiner) hold Bible study at their apartment for friends and teammates. "It's turned into a fun thing," Tebow says. "We have service and then hang out … or sit around and talk."

Tebow usually reads a Bible passage and then relates the message to everyday life."

What we need is more fundamentalist home schooled twits trying to teach abstinence only in areas where AIDS is a serious problem.

I imagine they do it so they can get rid of non-christians sub rosa.

41. I'll Admit I'm Prejudiced Against Tebow Because He's a Fundie
But since he hates me without knowing me, I feel fairly justified in hating him without knowing him.

It would be laudible that he visits third world countries if I could be sure he wasn't holding a bowl of soup in one hand and a bible in the other, which seems to be the SOP of christian relief personnel.

But he's on my enemies list in any case, because he plays for Florida. There is not a single good thing about any Florida college football program.

Had they won that game they be in the exact same position as they are right now.... one of two teams playing for the National Championship. So why should they have expended the effort?

Alabama kind of fell apart in the last half. Tebow undoubtedly credits the Lord with the win. God must have a shitload of game balls in some closet some where.

26. I'm always sort of amused hearing that.
Some athlete crediting God for a touchdown pass or a win. Teams praying to God before a football/baseball/basketball game. Does God really care about some high school football game?

23. Wow, hey, I dislike Tebow as much as the next person
But only because he plays for the 'Gators, and I dislike anything to do with Florida football.

However I find it ironic, and rather sad, to find people on this thread participating in that which they would otherwise condemn, judging people without knowing what they're about.

Yes, Tebow is a fundie, there's no doubt. There are also fundamentalists out there who support gays and gay rights. Hell, there are even gay fundamentalists, I know, I've met them.

So to assume the worst about somebody you've never met, well, that pretty much goes against what liberals and progressives stand for.

But hey, carry on with the two minute hate for somebody nobody here personally knows:eyes:

35. Trust me, you don't want Tebow because his running style QB play will ...
...not be tolerated in the NFL because the owners will have spent millions of dollars on him. He will be instructed to "slide" so as not to get hurt. Pocket passers with strong, accurate arms, the ability to read defenses, and certain height/weight requirements is what they want in the NFL. If you don't believe me, why is Baltimore starting a division 1-A QB over a Heisman winning QB?

43. there have been other successful "non-traditional" QBs in the nfl
such as Vick (until we found out he was a shit), Steve YOung, R. Cunningham it just depends on the team around him.

My opinion, Tebow's got the skills to do it in the nfl

45. Vick was the fastest man in football.....
Young's game wasn't designed for running.... he just knew how to scramble and turn the scramble into a big play.

Tebow's style of QB play won't work well in the NFL... The NFL speed and size will neutralize his skills rather quickly.
