The Cincinnati Bengals had some fight left in them after all.
After getting drilled the past two games, Cincinnati bounced back and pulled off its second win of the season by beating the Washington Redskins 20-13 at Paul Brown Stadium. The Bengals were outscored 69-6 the past two weeks but mustered enough resolve and played hard on Sunday.
The Bengals avoided making team history along the way. Cincinnati (2-11-1) had never finished a season with less than two victories. It also ended the playoff hopes of Washington (7-7), which lost for the fifth time in six games.
Cincinnati still has a chance to finish strong. The Bengals have a pair of games against losing teams in the Cleveland Browns (4-9) and Kansas City Chiefs (3-11) to round of their 2008 season.
