Not a huge hockey fan. But a game at the "friendly confines". History. I question the timing with all those bowl games, but I'll look in. In fact, I look forward to it. Kind of reminds me of Mystery, Alaska.

1. After the Red Wings slapped their butts 4-0 tonight, the Blackhawks will be out for blood.
Hometown crowd ... with lots of Michigan visitors.

9. I sure hope they have refrigerant coils under the ice. (Zambonis don't float.)
I'll be watching that game avidly. I love good hockey ... and the 4-0 game was hard-hitting and fast. Old-time hockey. About half the time, the Wings had that "gestalt" - something about the flow that looks well-choreographed and passes from the blade of one stick to the blade of another. Franzen's goal in the 2nd period was a thing of beauty - top shelf, nicking the shoulder of the goalie and hitting his water bottle from the bottom.

11. I assume next year it will be in Fenway. Seeing them against the Habs would be GREAT. nt

3. No, it should be Bruins/Rangers!
I think that would be awesome.

7. They're jacked up in Chicago. I flew threw there at Christmas
and they had "Welcome NHL" signs all over. And on the way back, when I checked my bag with the Red Wings' luggage tag, the curbside checkin guy told me he tried to get tickets to the game - through a connection - and it was sold out.

10. Could Be Weird Today
The temperature is supposed to be in the low to mid 30's by then. That could be a problem for the quality of the ice. I don't think there is enough refrigeration under the ice to make up for all outdoors being warm!

But, maybe 34 or 35 degrees isn't such a big problem.
