7th FIFA Confederations Cup this Summer
This was sent by one of my soccer loving friends. Go Greece!

Germany are playing host to the seventh FIFA Confederations Cup, which will be held from 15 to 29 June 2005. The champions of the six confederations - Greece (UEFA champions), Argentina (CONMEBOL), Tunisia (CAF), Mexico (CONCACAF), Japan (AFC) and Australia (OFC) - will compete alongside world champions Brazil and Germany as hosts.

The final will be held at the Frankfurter Waldstadion, on 29 June 2005.

Participating Teams
Brazil - FIFA World Cup Champions
Tunisia - CAF Champions
Argentina - CONMEBOL Champions
Greece - UEFA Champions
Japan - AFC Champions
Australia - OFC Champions
Germany - hosts
Mexico - CONCACAF Champions
The eight teams are split into two four-team round-robin groups, with the top two in each group advancing to the semifinals.

1. This ought to be fun.
Greece is the team to watch. Was their Euro Championship a fluke, or are they a legitimate player on the world stage? Also, the Brazil team that won the WC in '02 seemed very much like a team in transition (as scary as that may seem), and another thing worth watching will be the makeup and the play of that squad.

3. The tickets are quite affordable
So it might be worth it to enter the lottery... (for us Europeans, that is).
