(edited to add Minnesota and Johan in subject line, to avoid confusing Twins with Jenna and Barbara *)

1. I thought you meant the Bush twins
and Carlos Santana. Now THAT's a story.

4. Funny
I did not used to like Peter Gammons, but he *has* been very complimentary to our Twins over the past half decade or so!

7. Santana was coming back to the Twins for this year, no matter what
He had an arbitration case coming up, and this is just a case of he and the Twins avoiding that unpleasantness and getting a deal done outside of the courts.

The fact that it's a four year deal seems to me to imply that it's a pretty good deal, though. Any specifics on the financial side?

8. Looks to be about $40 million over 4 years
Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 07:07 PM by KitchenWitch
Yes, he would have been here this year, regardless, however, we Twins fans wanted to lock him up for longer than just this year. I personally got very sick of Spankee fans saying, "Johan Santana would look awfully good in the Yankee Pinstripes!"

Edited to include link.

10. True
But I hear he is much nicer than Kirby in person. I just hope he moves his family out of Venezuela, now that he is really rich (rampant kidnappings of rich folk's families there).
