Should Super Bowls be played in the elements?
I miss those old mud games.

1965 Championship - Packers 23, Browns 12 (some great players in that game)

1. Unfortunately, the Super Bowl has gone beyond football.
Personally, I think they should always play it outside and rotate it between northern an southern climes.

2. Of course.
But sports is not about great games. It's about making money.

3. "Because it was that way in yesteryear" is not a good reason...
That said, I don't actually care one way or the other.

5. It should always be played in a warm city with lots of bars.
Like New Orleans. They don't call it the Superdome for nothing.

6. Super Bowls are mostly played in the elements.
It rained 2 years ago. The field quality is very good now. That's why you don't see too many mudbowls. Also, the Browns have never appeared in the Super Bowl.

7. The Browns played in the NFL Championship game, but that was before the first Super Bowl
And I guess I was lamenting the fact that fields are so good with their "sport grass" that you never see mud anymore. Those were some fun games to watch.

8. yes.
football meant to be played outdoors more than any other sport, including baseball which is meant to be played in a park(thank you very much george carlin) the elements are crucial

9. I seem to recall reading ..

Somewhere that those fans who are actually fans of the teams got their tickets by luck. Won them on some radio program, or whatever. The majority of the people who go to the Superbowl, are celebrities, corporation big wigs, Advertising big wigs, and a lot of very rich people who probably don't watch football the rest of the year.

The Superbowl is probably more like an event, despite the best two teams playing. Don't get me wrong, some fans get to go, like those who are buddies with the players, coaches and management of the teams. I have heard that many real fans never get to go. Seems kind of unfair to me.

I could be wrong about this..but it sure makes sense.
