4. I'll take a parade after Easter. It'll mean the Celtics or Bruins have won!
The Sox should be having theirs a little earlier than that though.

39. Hey, I'm A Cub Fan!!!!
And they won 97 games last year. Yeah, they stunk it up in the playoffs, but at least it was October when they were out of it! Actually i think they'll be better this year, because the lineup is more balanced between left and right, as well as power v. batting average.

The pitching will be about the same, i think. But, with more hitting balance they should be better set up for October. We shall see. But, i'm optimistic.

that is, unless the Yanks' big moves pay off. Fortunately they haven't done so in the last few years.

20. Yeah.
That's why you see some overlap, but I became a Sox fan living in Conn. and RI. I later lived in Norfolk/Va. Beach and worked at the Met's AAA ballpark. That's how I came to it.

Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 04:40 PM by Upton
in the NL. With arms like reigning CY Young winner Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain, Jonathan Sanchez and now Randy Johnson..look for them to be competitive in a winnable NL West. Now if only Zito would begin to pull his weight and they could get some hitting...who knows what might happen?

hopefully the Giants pitching can keep them in contention until then.

Mike Scioscia is a smart guy. He will find away to break though again.

35. How do you mean out of contention?
Officially, like can't finish first or in a wild card spot? September.

Just some point where they won't be taken seriously after such and such a date? June, as always.

I figure they'll be in playoff contention right up until the end, be it for the division or for the wildcard.
