Kiffin backtracks on accusations. Al Davis of the SEC??
Now becoming the Oakland Raiders of the SEC!!

It didn't take long for new Tennessee football Coach Lane Kiffin to land in hot water. Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive issued a public reprimand to Kiffin on Thursday afternoon for violating the league's code of ethics. It was a result of remarks Kiffin made at a recruiting celebration breakfast meeting in Knoxville attended by Tennessee fans. Kiffin accused Florida Coach Urban Meyer of breaking an NCAA recruiting rule. The controversy involved Tennessee signee Nu'Keese Richardson, who had previously verbally committed to Florida. "I'm going to turn Florida in right now in front of you,'' Kiffin said Thursday morning. "Nu'Keese was here on campus and his phone kept ringing. One of our coaches said, 'Nu'Keese, who's that?' He said, 'Urban Meyer.' '' Kiffin stated Meyer's action constituted a rules violation. "I love the fact that Urban had to cheat and still didn't get him,'' Kiffin said. Later in the day at another fans' gathering in Nashville, Kiffin conceded that the alleged telephone call from Meyer was not a rules violation. The SEC issued its reprimand later in the day (Tennessean)

1. This will play very well in Knoxville. The fans want someone
who will stir things up.

2. Win and no one cares.
A coach can say anything in the SEC as long as he wins.

Spurrier tweaked Fulmer's and Goff's nose and no one batted an eye because he won.

If Kiffin wins, the comments will be seen as standing up to Florida. If he loses (especially big), he'll be seen as a fool.

5. That's Florida's motto. Even if it means tampering.

10. Florida runs the model program......
Model in terms of control and NCAA compliance.

Top sports program in The SEC.... and it's not even close. Won the All-Sports trophy something like 15 of the last 16 years. (Georgia won once, I think) Always has the best academic record for athletes in the conference in numbers of honor roll students. And all the while at the 2nd most best school....by a huge margin academically,in the conference. Vandy is #1. And not a hint of scandal for about 20 years....since Jeremy Foley took over as AD.

6. That is the mentality of Sports
in the south. As a matter of act that is the culture in the south. It's no different in politics. Here is a story that is worth reading. My son was just cut from our High school baseball. team. The coach made the players fund raise for the team the week before tryouts. My son who is a decent player but not a star raised $400 dollars. He was also the number 2 person to raise money for pine straw fu8ndariser.. The coach personally told me that there will always be a place for my son on the team. He never missed a workout and worked overtime with the coach. He was even given a team jacket. two days later he was cut and had to return the jacket. My son never wants to play baseball again and he loves the game. This guy uses kids to fund raise for him.

I come from the north as does my wife. We both believe this is the culture of the south. I have told my kids as soon as they finish college to leave the south. I will be leaving when they finish college. These are bad people. They look you in the eye and lie right to you.

8. Doesn't take much to entertain the mullets heads now does it?
Have the Vol-fer-brains ever chatted with any Southern Cal people to get their opinion of this punk kid when he "coached" there?

Let me tell you... it's not good.

Kitten is the typical son of a coach riding his diddy's reputation. No resume other than 5-15 at Oakland. The thought of that kid standing on the sideline at Florida Field makes me chuckle. Ask Marc Richt how he liked standing at The Gator Bowl when Urban called the last two TO's in the last few seconds of the 49-10 ass kicking his pre season #1 team took. It was essentially Urban saying to Richt, "You'll leave the Gator Bowl sideline when I tell you to leave The Gator Bowl sideline." And Richt is a decent coach who has actually won a couple of SEC Championships.
