Doc Rivers benches Pierce

In the game tonight Rivers benched Pierce for awhile for not "running the floor". Pierce was,needless to say,not a happy camper.When he came back into the game he hit a big 3 pointer and then started yelling towards the bench.

The Boston sports pages should be even more interesting than usual come tomorrow :)

Good to see a coach with balls.

I just hope they dont compare it to when Steve Kasper benched Cam Neely during a Bruins game years ago.Kasper was lucky to leave town with his head still attached,and rightfully so.Neely was the ultimate team guy...Pierce has a way to go in that department.

That's the key, really; a coach can pull this sort of thing only if the GM is backing him.

5. UPDATE

Pierce today apologized for his actions and said he wants to be a better role model for the younger players on the team.

Maybe there's hope :)

An actual "I apologise for what I did" would be nice.

I get sick of non-apologies. "I apologise if I offended anyone."

7. I didn't hear it

just what was reported on the news.No clip or anything.They made it sound sincere anyways.

I agree about the half-assed apologies these days :)
