We can pinpoint when the steroid era began, say 1988. My solution is that no player from 1988 until testing began in 2004 should be allowed into the Hall of Fame, and any and all records achieved during this period should be voided.

Is this a harsh punishment? Yes, but since the players union fought testing and the players supported the union, then they are all guilty of the coverup. So, they should all be punished.

The steroid era is larger than just Barry Bonds or ARod. The era included your team as well whether they took it or not, your favorite team was complicit in the covering up of the abuses.

You can't arbitrarily round up every Muslim and lock them up as being a terrorist any more than you can arbitrarily accuse every good player during that so-called era as being a cheat.

Too late now. When do decide to eliminate any pitcher who "might" have thrown the spitter? Why don't we decide that anybody who played when the Negro Leagues existed, meaning those great players couldn't be in MLB, should be out because they didn't play the finest competition?
