1. That wasn't a trade

Tully Banta-Cain was signed by the 49ers as a free agent. His release now clears over 2.5 million in cap space.

3. I think it unfolded this way.

We traded Deion Branch to Seattle for a first round pick. We then traded that pick to San Fran for their first round pick. It moved us up from the 29th overall pick to the 10th, and it landed us the defensive rookie of the year.

San Fran drafted Kentwan Balmer in our spot. He had 7 tackles.
