Which team do you think made out better in the Cutler trade?
Chicago or Denver

1. Denver, hands down.
TWO first rounders and a starting NFL QB in exchange for your talented yet spoiled brat?

Chicago finally got themselves a possible franchise QB, but has no one for him to throw to, and has now mortgaged a significant chunk of their future.

4. Doesn't Chicago have a couple of pretty good tight ends?

5. True, but can they stretch the field?
If WRs aren't a concern, you can bring a safety up and take away the TE routes.

9. To a degree that is correct
although if your TE is a good enough receiver, the safeties will need to tend to them instead of supporting the run (by being the 8th man in the box).

2. The Broncos are really going to suck this year...
so it matters not to me.

3. It would appear to be a rebuilding year for the Broncos
They will have plenty to work with though, in terms of picks to rebuild with.

6. Denver
Da Bears have traded their future for a whiner. It doesn't matter if Cutler has the arm of a thunder god--with no standout WR to throw to, and no decent drafts and dwindling funds to get one, it's useless.

Kyle Orton, while far from great, was still developing. He proved he could keep his head in a bad situation.

8. He Did?
How did Orton do that? He acted like a back-up because that's all he's ever really going to be, whether he starts for a bad team or not.

When did Orton show his ability to keep his head? When did he show leadership? Why are his ex-teammates all so excited to have Cutler? You hear NOTHING but good things from his new teammates. They don't seem to care a whit that Orton is going.

7. Chicago
Yeah, i'm a Bear fan, but let's be real. The rebuilt offensive line will be better than the one he played behind in Denver. And, the receiver corps can still be built through the draft.

Angelo's track record with first round draft choices, especially on the "O" side, hasn't been very good. So, if he gets a proven QB instead of two maybes (and with Jerry's record, perhaps two nothings), the Bears win big.

10. Chicago has been one big piece away from a championship
Cutler may be that piece.

Denver went from an unhappy QB and no defense to no QB (sorry all you Orton and Simms fans) and a chance to rebuild their defense.

This was a big win for both clubs.

11. We won't know for a while.
Denver has the potential of getting the better deal if the first rounders pan out. If they get two stud players out of it they win, if they get two busts they lose, if they get one and one they break even. But it will be a few seasons before it's obvious who got the upper hand.
