I just perused the TBS national baseball lineup for the next three weeks and they are worse than ESPN as far as the east coast bias. All Yankees/Red Sox/Mets all the time. Screw them too. Does anyone understand that the NL Central is shaping up to be a great race and that Grienke of the Royals is pitching lights out, or that the Texas Rangers are in first place? Apparently not the folks who make up the schedules for the national baseball broadcasts. Yes, I know the schedules are done in advance, but to me, that shows the bias even more. Assuming the USA wants to watch the "holy trinity" of eastern seaboard teams shows either arrogance, ignorance, or just plain stupidity, in my opinion. I am refusing to watch national MLB broadcasts until someone gets it right. Screw TBS and ESPN.

I think it funny that you just posted this. He feels that Joe Morgan has a huge chip on his shoulder about the two New York Baseball teams. I was watching the Mets game and Morgan went on a tirade againt Reyes. The beat writer told me that Morgan pulls that crap all the time. I don't really watch ESPN much and rarely watch when the Mets are on.

He was telling me that Morgan is really bad when it comes to either NY teams. He watched more than I.

So it is funny that you post this after I just had that conversation.

3. During the Mets/Giants game tonight on ESPN

all they did was talk about the Mets. Morgan and Phillips.. inning after inning, during play, over the play..in fact it seemed like the game was secondary to the state of the Mets.

I know there's a bad east coast bias with the sports media in general, we on the west coast are used to it..but sometimes you just want to reach through the TV and grab one of those ESPN announcers by the throat and remind them there are other teams besides the Yankees, Mets and Red Sox...tonight was one of those nights.

If you can't be a Marlins fan in Florida, live in Eastern PA. I got to see them on the local NYC channels against the Mets, on Comcast against the Phillies, and on TBS against the Braves.

12. Actually, they have rating numbers to back them up. The Cubs rate high, too, but since

they're on a national cable network like TBS, they probably are less likely to show them.

Most people wouldn't peek over the backyard fence to see the Rangers. Sad, but true.

Television ratings for all sports are down and just as TBS is showing fewer Braves games, they're probably stiffing the Cubs, who are on a similar network, for the same reason.

Fox is all over the place the next couple months. If you have MLB Network, Thursday they're showing the Cubs/Cards game which should be a good one.

Seriously I considered putting the game on mute rather than hear Joe Morgan talk shit about Jose Reyes all night. I usually reserve yelling at the TV for Republican politicians but Morgan and Phillips had me going last night. That goes for Fox too, I can't stand their announcers as well.


Give me Keith, Gary and Ron any day over these national yahoos. As far as I'm concerned the NL Central can keep ESPN

They have shown games from Seattle and Pittsburgh already this year. Granted, they are showing Cardinals-Cubs this week, but that's a storied rivalry.

Just for those that don't know, MLB Network shows games Thursday and Saturday nights.
