Tech. writer wanted: Environment/Interior Dept.
This notice was posted at about.com's freelance writing section. It sounds like a great way to get "inside" info on what the Dept. of Interior is up to. Any DU technical writers with an interest in the environment should apply:

Technical Writer Wanted

We are currently building our technical writing team and are looking for professionals who can assist us in preparing government documents. We want individuals that have experience in developing, writing, and editing material for scientific and technical reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative procedures. An interest in the environment and in the mission of the Department of the Interior would be especially helpful. Please describe your
technical writing experience, your interests, and your hourly rate. We are hoping to build a long-term relationship with a few talented individuals.
Thank you!

Pay: $20+ per hour commensurate with experience

1. On the cheap, too
That is one low, low, low, low rate for technical writing. We've taken some hits in the last few years on rates, but still, $50+ is more like it.

3. I'm assuming it's in Washington?
You couldn't live in a cardboard box on the corner for $20 an hour there. Are they nuts?

FSC,
likes the environment and tech writing but geez!
